From the Streets to the Stage: The Journey of Emmy Mails

Once upon a time, in the bustling streets of Kampala, there lived a young man named Emmy Mails. Like many children born into poverty, Emmy’s early life was marked by hardship and struggle. Emmy had a natural talent for carpentry, and with hard work and dedication, he quickly honed his skills, creating beautiful pieces of furniture that were admired by many.

However, carpentry wasn’t the only thing that sparked joy in Emmy’s heart. He had a passion for music, a gift that helped him express the struggles and triumphs of his life. His soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics soon caught the attention of local gospel music lovers, and before long, Emmy Mails became a rising star in the Gospel Ugandan music scene. His music was more than entertainment; it was a message of hope and resilience for those who had walked the same path as him.

But Emmy never forgot where he came from. As his music career grew, he made it his mission to give back to the very streets he once called home. Now, Emmy is taking his mission to a new level. On 6th October 2024 at Emerald Hotel Kampala, he is hosting a fundraising dinner with a vision of establishing a showroom for his carpentry work. Through this initiative, Emmy aims to create a sustainable source of income that will allow him to sponsor even more street children, providing them with the opportunities they need to succeed. His carpentry showroom will not only showcase his beautiful creations but also stand as a symbol of transformation — of how hard work, resilience, and compassion can change lives.
