For with the heart a man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10)
Our theme scripture explains (the salvation experience) that ‘with his heart, a man believes unto righteousness and then confesses salvation. It means one confesses salvation following belief in righteousness. But the question is, what righteousness?
The Bible explains that: ‘now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe’ (Romans 3:21-22). The righteousness that a man believes in his heart is the righteousness by faith.
Salvation begins from a man believing that he is righteous by faith.
For this reason, Paul speaks of his brethren, the Jews, and says:, ‘my heart’s desire for Israel is that they might be SAVED. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.’ (Romans 10:1-3).
So, Israel is not saved because they are ignorant of the righteousness of God. This is righteousness by faith and not by works. When Paul says that if righteousness came by the law then Christ died in vain, it means that the result of Christ’s death was this imputed righteousness that is not worked for. The beginning of salvation is when a man has understood the righteousness that is by faith.

GOLDEN NUGGET:
The beginning of salvation is when a man has understood the righteousness that is by faith.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your grace. I do not frustrate it because I know that it is the true demonstration of Your love, the reason why You came to us. It is by grace that I am saved through faith. I grow and increase in the understanding of it every day and as I do, my life is absolutely transformed. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
